Membership Engagement Lab - Cultivating Connection - A Three Part Series

Duration:
Three Part Series (Sept 29th, Oct 13th, Oct 27th)

Dates
Schedule at a glance

Description

Introducing a new three-part national cohort series by The Alliance Learning Collective

Throughout three highly interactive discussions, we will discuss, explore, and experiment with dozens of methods for gently nudging members through the three stages of engagement. We will look at every nook and cranny of member engagement, including (but not limited to) messaging, online communities, onboarding, networking, learning, conferences, chapters, benefits, volunteerism, and value. We will attempt to stand in the shoes (hopefully new shoes) of our new members, long-time members, and mid-career members. Some discussions are likely to center on high-tech strategies, while others will reveal simple, low-budget, no-tech options.

While the conversations will be wide-ranging, the goal is simple - to figure out how to engage and re-engage members in today's tricky environment.

Tapping into the knowledge of the community, we will uncover the best evergreen strategies and investigate how the changes in today's world of work impact engagement right now. Whether you work for a large association or very small association, trade or professional association, by the time this series wraps up, you will have heaps of fresh ideas for engaging your members, especially your hardest-to-engage members.

Each of the three 90-minute discussions focuses on a significant stage of engagement. As a participant, you will be matched with a cohort of your peers for small group discussions during each of these three highly interactive 90-minute sessions.

Discussion 1: Attention

Members can't learn about all the great things your association offers if they are not reading/hearing/watching your messaging. Today's chat is all about busting through the clutter.

Discussion 2: Participation

Once you've got your member's attention, likely they'll feel the urge to participate, but participating can feel scary, so many members tune out at this stage. It is time to prime your members to participate!

Discussion 3: Leadership

Members think about leadership even more broadly than board or committee service, and associations with many leaders thrive. Let's dive into this final engagement stage to see how we can encourage more collaborators, contributors, and leaders within our association.

We can't wait to see you inside the Lab!
